Hi, I am not at all surprised by the price you have been quoted for by British Gas. We are Green Deal Approved Installers and a family run business, we are quoting customers much less than this, I think that you need to get prices from at least two other installers before making your decision. We spent Â£99 on a green Deal Assessment as suggested by British Gas.
We had a new boiler fitted ( uses more gas than the 25 year old one) the loft insulation and the double glazing was OK. The Green Deal Assessor recommended NOT having cavity wall insulation as the house is on the coast and the insulation may cause damp (we don’t have any at the moment).
Now it seems we will not be paid until it has been done ( our pensions won’t stretch much further).
Wish we had’nt bothered with any of it.
What a big con.
NOT happy.
