Micro Combined Heat Power

Micro CHP (Micro Combined Heat and Power), is a power generation system which produces heat, hot water and electricity at the same time. Micro CHP systems can be used to replace gas powered central heating units.

Micro CHP technology has improved over the last few years and like other micro generation systems, can significantly reduce carbon emissions. Another benefit of Micro CHP is that it is possible to sell energy back to the grid via net metering, meaning it has the potential to make money as well as save it.

It is worth mentioning, however, that Micro CHP systems can be expensive to install and have a relatively short life span.
